because everything else was taken

There are so many sports. Played so many ways. There is a principal that states that every man, young or old, must like sports…. must love sports.
I don’t.
I will not watch them on a plane. I will not watch them in the rain. I will not watch them here or there. I will not watch them anywhere.
OK, so maybe I don’t like watching sports. I don’t mind playing sports, but that involves physical movement on my part, there-by making the sport non-spectator.
I can’t make myself watch sports on TV. Being at the games is better, but not by much. And I really hate ESPN. I have even tried to like sports to fit in with my friends, but I can’t. Perhaps, the fall of sports is due to its repetitive nature. Team plays Team. One team wins. The other loses. Rinse, Wash, and Repeat. Every year. Yes, there are different players, but none that can play an entire team by their self. Not much change from year to year.
And the game? Run, Score, Repeat. For the Love. Can we get options to fall out of the sky? Imagine with me.
“Peyton Manning throws the ball down the field….and it’s intercepted by “someone” ….Ohh, but wait!….Manning picks up the Beanbag Gun and levels his opponent with a heavy barrage of beans.”
More Exciting, Right?
Let me know what you think.

I heard about a wonderful Jesus-like action from star Eliza Dushku from the blog site Crazy Days and Nights
You Go Girl.
“This is a B lister. I almost think of our actress as the epitome of a B lister. She has done television and films and is probably more of a B lister for the television, but she does have some great film roles. Anyway, this week at Sundance. Oh, I guess that will narrow it down some huh? At Sundance this week, our actress was walking down the street and spotted a teenage girl who was sitting on a backpack, shivering and didn’t have anything on but a sweater and jeans even though it was after dark and well below freezing. Turns out the girl had come out to Park City to hang out with a guy she barely knew but he blew her off for some other girl, so she had no room and no place to stay and didn’t have the money to change her return airline ticket which was for three days in the future. Our actress didn’t really believe the girl at first but then the girl showed her the airline ticket and her i.d. That was enough for our actress. She took the girl to a store and bought her a jacket, and then took her back to her hotel for food and fun. The actress called some friends over to cheer the girl up, got her some dinner and then had everyone take turns calling the jerk who traded her for another girl. Our actress changed the return date on the ticket, paying for the change and even upgraded the girl to first class for the flight home. She let the girl spend the night, got her out to the airport the next morning and gave her a few hundred bucks.
Eliza Dushku “

Check it out! Let those “emerging” people in Monroe (if there are any) know that we have a cohort near them now!

It’s about time for me to blog on the Emergent experience once again. I am writing from the “Everything Must Change” Tour with Brian McLaren. This conference has been really interesting thus far and Brian seems to be very sincere and heartfelt- not only in his message, but also in the way he relates with people he barely knows. Had I known nothing of this man before we met the other night, I would have thought him to be a true representative of kindness. Thanks Brian for all you do! Sojourners is here. The Sierra Club is here. The One Campaign…Wake Forrest Div….Mars Hill Grad…and so on and so forth…I bought a copy of “A Community Called Atonement” and got a free copy of “Everything Must Change”…. sweet.
On a slightly more depressing note, I have not slept well all week and had to wake up at 4am this morning to drive to NoDa in Charlotte to set up tarps over the windows of the church so that the power point presentation could be more easily read. I don’t mind though. Beside the church is a place called Area 15 which is a place where artists create beautiful works. Located within the same building is the 24/7 Prayer Room which is equally neat-o. Check out the sites. Seriously. Do It. It’s a Goodness Revolution.

Many of you out there are asking the big question- “Who’s it gonna be? Blu-Ray or HD?”

Well, who really knows. I, personally, like Blu-Ray for the main part because I like Sony and I like space (50 gigs of it). Blu- Ray seems to be a superior technology, but HD DVD has a pretty substantial fan base as well. I think the lay person largely buys into HD DVD because it has the key word (or rather, abbreviation) “HD” in the name. Quite frankly, I prefer the blue cases of the Blu-ray to the red cases that HD DVDs sport. Isn’t Blue the best color ever???
I wish there were more blue people! Don’t you?

In short, I have already purchased a few Blu-Rays so I hope we win! I have chosen a side. Will You??

Well, We are all having a great time down here in the wonderful city of Atlanta (home of the pizza- bagel). We arrived at the Omni Hotel in Atlanta only to find out that we have to pay for Valet Parking (I always thought that was optional). Any way, I hope everything is going well in the outside world. I must now go and enjoy some wonderful sessions. I am hoping to attend Tim Condor’s first Session. I think it will be sweet.
