Everything Must Change

It’s about time for me to blog on the Emergent experience once again. I am writing from the “Everything Must Change” Tour with Brian McLaren.  This  conference has been really interesting thus far and Brian seems to be very sincere and heartfelt- not only in his message, but also in the way he relates with people he barely knows. Had I known nothing of this man before we met the other night, I would have thought him to be a true representative of kindness. Thanks Brian for all you do! Sojourners is here. The Sierra Club is here. The One Campaign…Wake Forrest Div….Mars Hill Grad…and so on and so forth…I bought a copy of “A Community Called Atonement” and got a free copy of “Everything Must Change”…. sweet.
On a slightly more depressing note, I have not slept well all week and had to wake up at 4am this morning to drive to NoDa in Charlotte to set up tarps over the windows of the church so that the power point presentation could be more easily read. I don’t mind though. Beside the church is a place called Area 15 which is a place where artists create beautiful works. Located within the same building is the 24/7 Prayer Room which is equally neat-o. Check out the sites. Seriously. Do It. It’s a Goodness Revolution.

National Youth Worker’s Convention

Well, We are all having a great time down here in the wonderful city of Atlanta (home of the pizza- bagel). We arrived at the Omni Hotel in Atlanta only to find out that we have to pay for Valet Parking (I always thought that was optional). Any way, I hope everything is going well in the outside world. I must now go and enjoy some wonderful sessions. I am hoping to attend Tim Condor’s first Session. I think it will be sweet.

Theology Pub Tonight!!!!

See Blog entry below for details

Charlotte Theology Pub - 9/12/07 (Wednesday)

That’s right… we  had a great discussion last time. Even if there were only three of us. Tyler Ashworth made his debut appearance and we talked about why we think theologically and why we do theology. It was great. If you’re reading this post, try coming out this week to the Flying Saucer in Charlotte. We’d love to have you!

What: Charlotte Theology Pub Meeting

Where: Flying Saucer

When: Wednesday @ 7:30 pm

What you should get your pastor for Pastor Appreciation Day in October…

If your Pastor needs anything, surely it won’t be another Bible or Concordance (trust me) and the last thing he needs are more candles or picture frames or crosses made from all the elements Mother nature can muster. Chances are, your pastor is sick and tired of all this crap he/she has to deal with on a daily basis. So get your pastor what he/she really needs….

This:

Seriously, if you want to make you Pastor happy and give him/her a chance to rest and/or relax, how can you go wrong with an angel complete with flaming sword to guard his front door and ward off any would- be parishioners with a mighty swing of the flaming sword. Awesome.

Theology Pub Tonight!

7:30- until…

Come on out…even if you are late!!!

Flying Saucer on Hwy 29!!!
